Not a blank stare in the lot of them. No anger. No distress. No hunger or visible illness. No fear or weapons, either. Purpose, concern, confident comfort, yes.

The privileged few?? I doubt it. Every one of them educated, for sure. Every one of them employed? Doubtful. All members of families who have employed members? Probably yes.

Very likely, these are people who have chosen a life of cooperation. And not mindless acquiescence to some dubious higher authority, but fully critical engagement in mutually cooperative efforts meant to yield tangible results.

It has been noted many times before by many many observers that far too many folks approach life with expectations of playing in a zero-sum game. Somebody wins while most will lose. The object, of course, is to be amongst the winners, whatever the costs. But that isn't the only way to play the game of life. Purposeful cooperation can make more of everything for everyone. Really nobody need lose. It is a choice that very likely seems incomprehensible to those who have only known win or lose. But the choice exists. It is real and it is viable.

And there are many who would reach out their hands to help others learn the way of cooperation. Hopefully, you will find way to be amongst them.
